Product Introduction

High Alumina Refractory Mortar is a ready-mixed or dry-powder bonding material specifically formulated for laying high alumina bricks and other alumina-based refractories. It is composed of high-quality calcined bauxite aggregates, fine alumina powder, and advanced inorganic binders, ensuring excellent adhesion, high hot strength, and superior resistance to slag attack.

Designed for applications where conventional clay mortars fail, this mortar delivers stable performance at continuous operating temperatures up to 1650°C (depending on grade). It is available in both conventional ceramic-bonded and chemically bonded (air-setting or heat-setting) formulations to meet diverse installation and service conditions.

Key Technical Features

High Alumina Content – With Al₂O₃ levels ranging from 55% to 90%, our mortar closely matches the chemistry of high alumina bricks, eliminating differential reactions and ensuring a uniform lining structure.

Excellent Bond Strength – The mortar develops strong ceramic bonds at high temperatures and, in chemically bonded grades, achieves high cold bonding strength even before firing. This prevents joint cracking and gas leakage during heat-up.

Good Workability – Optimized particle size distribution provides smooth troweling and consistent joint thickness (typically 1 mm), reducing installation time and material waste.

Low Permanent Linear Change – Our formulation minimizes shrinkage or expansion during service, maintaining tight joints and preventing brick loosening over extended campaigns.

Superior Slag and Corrosion Resistance – High alumina content and low impurity levels (especially low Fe₂O₃ and SiO₂) provide excellent resistance to acidic slags, molten metals, and flue gases.

Typical Applications

  • Laying high alumina bricks in blast furnace bottoms and hearths

  • Jointing in hot blast stove domes and checkers

  • Construction of cement rotary kiln transition zones

  • Steel ladle and tundish linings

  • Reheating furnaces and soaking pits

  • Glass tank regenerators and feeder channels

  • Repair and maintenance of existing alumina-based masonry

Why Choose Our High Alumina Mortar?

  • Perfect match with your high alumina bricks – same thermal expansion, same chemical resistance.

  • Longer campaign life – tight, durable joints reduce gas erosion and brick movement.

  • Cost-effective – reduced material consumption thanks to high coverage per ton.

  • Global shipping – ready stock for fast delivery.
